A2SEA has installed over 50 per cent of the world’s wind turbines and is widely seen as the provider of choice in its industry.
So we are absolutely honoured that they selected Pearson Electrical as their preferred electrical maintenance and installation team for the Dudgeon wind farm project off the East Coast.
We are on call 24-7 to handle and planned and reactive maintenance and installations on their enormous Sea Challenger and Sea Installer vessels, as well as the impressive onshore and marine infrastructure that feeds their work.
A2SEA is the offshore wind industry’s most experienced provider of foundation transport and installation, turbine transport and installation, and operations and maintenance logistics.
And the company, whose local base is at the Siemens site in east Hull, has a powerful ethos based around an outstanding commitment to safety, good teamwork, efficiency and effective cost control.
Senior Site Manager Thomas Beer said: “When we come to a new site we work with specialist agents to source the right companies to support our project. We look for leading accreditations, financial security and the scale to support our needs, as well as the right mentality to fit with our approach.
“We operate with working vessels which need to be highly maintained by our own teams and selected contractors, but do break sometimes. When that happens, time is money and we need to be able to rely on responsive companies who will pull out all the stops to give us the service we require, without delay.”
He added: “As well as call-outs, Pearson’s are there to help us with planned and unplanned maintenance, including service work on the reefer vessels that are responsible for taking food and supplies out to our install sites.
“Sometimes, we might have a planned or urgent need for replacement electrical parts, and we would also look to Pearson Electrical for help with that.”
A2SEA has sites in a wide range of locations, including Denmark, Germany and Great Yarmouth, as well as Hull, and is committed to using a network of local suppliers in each location as far as possible.
Of their relationship with Pearson Electrical, Thomas said: “We have a good working relationship with Pearson Electrical. We are paying them to do a very good job, and that’s what we get, which is all we ask. Mark and his team work as an extension of our own, and just get on with it, which is great.”
